A milestone for computer-to-plate

The UV-Setter is a CtP platesetter for digital imaging of offset printing plates. What makes the UV-Setter unique is that it works with UV-sensitive plates instead of dedicated CtP plates, which are used by most other CtP platesetters on the market today.

Because you can use your inexpensive UV-sensitive plates, the UV-Setter can be easily integrated into your existing workflow processes – providing you an easy entry into the digital world of CtP printing.

With the basysPrint UV-Setter, you gain all the benefits of CtP, while still using the printing plates you know and trust – plates with characteristics and process stability that you are familiar with, and which have produced quality work for many years. Furthermore, UV-sensitive plates are more cost effective to work with and are better for the environment.

With the basysPrint UV-Setter, you can expose any plate format without restriction: from small to large formats up to 1,580mm x 3,270mm (62″ x 129″) – depending on the model you choose. The UV-Setter is configurable for almost all printing tasks.

Capable of handling all plate formats up to a maximum of 1,150mm x 940mm (45″ x 37″), the UV-Setter Series 800 is the ideal solution for applications including commercial, packaging and book printing.

Because the UV-Setter uses UV-sensitive plates, it is easily integrated into your existing work flow processes and quickly installed. Moreover, its modular platform design enables the UV-Setter to grow with your changing needs, and can be reconfigured and adapted to new operational requirements at any time.

The UV-Setter’s intuitive, user-friendly user interface also makes it extremely easy to operate.

The UV-Setter Series 800 is available with DSI³. The diode modules are long-lasting and stable, which ensures that a constant high exposure quality is maintained, even without calibration.

The UV-Setter Series 800 can be ordered in the following automation levels:

Manual and semi-automatic

Even the manual version of the UV-Setter stands out from its competitors due to its ease of handling and quality. The UV-Setter can also be configured as a semi-automatic system with automatic plate transport to the processor.

Fully automatic system with single cassette

The fully automatic Single Cassette Automation (SCA) version holds up to 100 plates (thickness 0.30mm) of a particular format in a cassette. Additional plate formats can be made available by simply adding an extra trolley. Should you wish to upgrade to a multi-cassette at a later stage, the SCA version can be quickly expanded at minimal cost.

• Up to 100 plates in a cassette (thickness 0.30mm)
• Manual operation possible, if necessary
• Fully automatic paper removal
• Optional automatic punching
• Plates can also be loaded up during exposure

Fully automatic system with multi-cassette

The Multi-Cassette Automation (MCA) version holds up to 500 plates in 5 cassettes. This design enables the MCA to accept up to five different plate formats and automatically supplies the required format for exposure.

• Up to 500 plates in max. 5 cassettes (thickness 0.30mm)
• Manual operation possible, if necessary
• Fully automatic paper removal
• Optional automatic punching
• Plates can also be loaded during exposure
